Awaken Pittsburgh in the News: Coping with Election Day Stress

Channel 11 Pittsburgh spoke to Stephanie Romero, executive director of Awaken Pittsburgh, about dealing with everyday stress — especially the kind brought on by recent elections.

According to a recent survey commissioned by the American Psychological Association, 76% of Americans report the future of the country is a significant source of stress in their lives. Inflation is a source of stress for 83% of adults.

“While we can control how we ourselves vote, we really just have to name for ourselves that those things of how everyone else is voting… in other states… that really isn’t within our control.”

If you are feeling stressed about work, family or politics. take a few minutes and just concentrate on what’s around you and recognize it, using all of your five senses.
