“In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers…” FRED ROGERS
Dear Friends of Awaken Pittsburgh,
Fred Rogers’ timeless wisdom feels urgent to me right now. Yet, listening not just with our ears but also with our hearts, is so hard to do. And I’m not sure I always have the patience to stay with the questions when I feel such a longing for the answers. This skill is what Awaken Pittsburgh brings.
Simply, this is our work. That’s why I’m reaching out to you. To let you know that Awaken Pittsburgh is there for you, as well as the greater Pittsburgh community. Your support has allowed Awaken Pittsburgh to help people with the challenges they face in everyday life, not just the extraordinary circumstances of our present moment.
Right now you can support this work and unlock a $5,000 matching gift – but only if we can raise the same amount by today. Can you help us earn this $5,000 matching gift and give today? Donate here.
As we all continue to confront the Covid19 pandemic, political uncertainty, and the stress of this moment, we are offering two new programs to help:
Mindful Connections for Everyone – Online
We have modified our 20-hour program to allow us to practice together remotely. Once it’s safe to come together again in person, we will host an in-person retreat but if necessary, we will host the retreat online. There is a suggested price, but also a pay-what-you-are-able option to attend this course. Please register for this class.
Mindful Connections for Trauma Sensitive Practices
This is a training for folks who are offering mindfulness practices to others and who have already attended our Mindful Connections introductory course (or equivalent). Find out more and register here.
Maybe you might consider giving the gift of mindfulness to someone else this holiday season? Purchase a spot in one of our upcoming online introductory programs from our website here.
Awaken Pittsburgh needs additional support to continue to provide this type of virtual programming to those who cannot afford it, which allows us to continue connecting mindfully to those most in need.
With gratitude, Stephanie Romero, Ed.D. Founder & Executive Director Awaken Pittsburgh
Our small but mighty operation is made possible through a team of dedicated, part-time staff and a large network of volunteers and supporters like you.
Awaken Pittsburgh, a 501c3 non-profit organization, relies on the generosity of our community to achieve our mission of fostering well-being, empathy, and compassion for all. Your support helps mindfulness practitioners reach individuals across the Greater Pittsburgh Area through evidence-based programs, activities, and events.
Every life changed was made possible with the help of donors—like you–grantors, community partners, and dozens upon dozens of
volunteers. This is a team effort! We hope you will consider supporting our organization today by becoming a monthly donor or by making a gift in an amount that feels meaningful to you.
