Mindful Connections is Awaken Pittsburgh’s proprietary program designed to help you create a space for mindfulness and meditation in your own life. You will learn tools to help you stay focused and grounded and, in turn, positively impact your relationships with others.
Learn how to:
Cope with daily stressors
Become more resilient
Increase compassion and empathy
Develop your own regular mindfulness practice
The course includes the following topics:
Basic introduction to mindfulness
The research that supports mindfulness
Dealing with difficult emotions and events
Understanding and improving relationships
Mindful communication
Conflict resolution
Forgiveness and gratitude
DATES: 9 Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm via Zoom online video conferencing:
March 1 – April 26
This course includes an optional half-day of in-person practice together on a weekend date TBD.
COST: The price for this program is $250, however, we offer four price levels to make our programming accessible to all. Please choose the one that you are able to afford. We rely on donations to subsidize those who may not otherwise be able to afford the course.
REQUIRED Workbook: This class requires that you purchase The Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance Workbook: An Eight-Week Program for Improved Emotion Regulation and Resilience (Cullen & Brito Pons). It can be purchased for Kindle or paperbackhere. Or other e-versions of the workbook can be purchasedhere. We will read this book throughout the course together.

CEUs
This program is offered for up to16 CE hours of social work continuing education through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, a Council on Social Work Education accredited school and therefore a PA pre-approved provider of social work continuing education.
